Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of Campfire, including the campfire-mc.com website, the downloadable desktop application, and any related services. By using Campfire, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Campfire in any form, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of Campfire immediately. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
Campfire is an open-source platform consisting of:
- A self-hosted web dashboard for managing Minecraft Java Edition servers, including server creation, configuration, mod management, and multi-user access control
- A desktop application (built with Tauri) that provides a game launcher and integrated management interface
- The campfire-mc.com website for account management, downloads, and waitlist registration
The software is provided as open-source under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute Campfire in accordance with that license.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features of campfire-mc.com (such as downloading releases or joining the waitlist), you may need to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Keep your credentials secure and not share them with others
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Campfire account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Campfire only for lawful purposes and in ways that do not infringe on the rights of others. You must not:
- Use Campfire to operate servers that violate applicable laws
- Attempt to circumvent security features of the platform
- Distribute malware, cheats, or exploits through Campfire's mod management features
- Use Campfire to manage servers in ways that violate the rights of players — including unauthorized data collection, harassment, or discrimination
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract proprietary code from Minecraft or Mojang's services through Campfire
5. Minecraft and Mojang Compliance
Campfire is an independent, community-developed tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios.
By using Campfire to run Minecraft servers or launch the game, you agree to comply with:
- The Minecraft End User License Agreement (EULA)
- Mojang's Commercial Usage Guidelines and Brand Guidelines
- All applicable terms from Microsoft regarding Xbox Live and account services
Campfire uses Microsoft's official OAuth 2.0 authentication API for Minecraft account verification. We do not circumvent, spoof, or otherwise bypass Mojang's authentication systems. Any use of Campfire that would violate the Minecraft EULA is also a violation of these Terms.
Campfire accesses the Modrinth and CurseForge APIs under the terms of those platforms' API agreements. Content available through those platforms is subject to each mod author's individual licensing terms.
6. Intellectual Property
Campfire's source code is released under the MIT License. You may use, modify, and distribute it in accordance with that license. The Campfire name, logo, and visual identity are reserved; you may not use them to misrepresent a fork or derivative as the official Campfire project.
Minecraft, the Minecraft logo, and all associated assets are the intellectual property of Mojang Studios and Microsoft Corporation. Campfire does not include any Minecraft assets and does not claim ownership of anything created by Mojang.
Mods and modpacks accessible through Campfire's integrations belong to their respective authors. Installing a mod through Campfire does not grant you any rights to that mod's code or assets beyond what the mod's own license permits.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Campfire is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. Use of Campfire is at your own risk.
In particular, we make no guarantee that server data will not be lost due to software bugs, hardware failure, or user error. We strongly recommend maintaining regular backups of any Minecraft server data.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Campfire and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform — including but not limited to loss of data, server downtime, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to campfire-mc.com accounts that violate these Terms. Because the core software is open-source, termination of your account does not affect your ability to use a self-hosted installation under the MIT License.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email. Your continued use of Campfire after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
